WCNSF- Wounded Child, No Surviving Family
The phrase "WCNSF"— acronym used in Gaza meaning wounded child, no surviving family—capsulate the terrible situation that many Gazan youngsters are forced to live in.
Children who are orphaned, suffer severe bodily harm and severe stress while trying to find safety in the face of constant violence. These defenseless youngsters have unclear futures and dashed hopes since it is impossible to give them the proper care and support in the turmoil of war. These kids struggle to find stability in the face of constant violence, suffering from severe trauma and physical wounds.
Orphans of Gaza face many issues, such as psychological trauma and limited resources. They are open to abuse and disregard since they have few resources and assistance. After losing their parents, they struggle to meet basic needs and often live in poverty. Their challenges are worsened by emotional wounds, highlighting the urgent need for comprehensive support networks.
The Plight of Orphans of Gaza
During war in Gaza, many children became orphans, losing their families to the violence. According to the latest reports that since the conflict started, approximately 10,000 women have died, leaving behind around 19,000 orphaned children. This leaves these youngsters to cope alone in a challenging and uncertain environment.
In Gaza, people get only three liters (0.79 gallons) of water per day for drinking, cooking, and cleaning due to fuel and power shortages. This is much less than the fifteen liters (3.3 gallons) recommended. Many now face food insecurity due to worsening food and water shortages caused by the Gaza blockade.
