Hounslow-UK, March 05, 2025. Al Mustafa Welfare Trust, in collaboration with Hounslow Jamia Mosque, launched the community shelf in Hounslow to fight hunger and poverty. The Community Shelf is a dedicated food bank that provides essential relief seven days a week from 12 pm to 3 pm. This initiative is part of Al Mustafa Welfare Trust’s Neighbours First Project. The program's main objective is to ensure that no one is left hungry. This food bank is available to support struggling people, low-income families, and anybody experiencing food insecurity by providing free and dignified access to food for those in need.
A United Effort to Fight Hunger:
The event, launched on Sunday, February 23, brought together community leaders, volunteers, and supporters. MP Ruth Cadbury, Mayor Taryn Smith, Deputy Mayor Shakil Akram Malik, and other honorable guests attended the event.
The concept of collective commitment to tackle food poverty was addressed in the event. Shafiq Rehman, General Secretary of Hounslow Jamia Mosque, also expressed his gratitude to donors, volunteers, and community members. Their dedication and generosity played a vital role in making this project successful.
Benefits of Giving in Ramadan 2025:
As Ramadan 2025 approaches, the need for kindness and generosity becomes more evident. In Islam, feeding the hungry is considered one of the noble acts, especially during the holy month when rewards are multiplied ten times more. Those who contributed to launching the Community Shelf not only became the cause of providing food to people in need but also hope, dignity, and assistance to those in need. A small act of kindness can make a huge difference.
How You can Still Help for this Cause:
The event's official launch is over, but the Community Shelf still needs continued support. Every donation will help keep this vital project going.
