“And We have sent you (O Muhammad PBUH) not but as a mercy for the Alameen (mankind, jinns and all that exists)” [al-Anbiya’ 21:107]

The blessed month of Rabi ul Awal honors our beloved Prophet Muhammad (saw), The Chosen One, who brought us the Holy Qur’an, completed the religion of Islam, and united the ummah. He exemplified goodness, service to others, and care for the needy.

During Rabi al Awal and always, we ask you to join us in remembering the Prophet (saw). One of the best ways to honour him, is to give in charity and support deserving causes around the world.

When was Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) born?

The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was born on the day of 12 Rabi Ul Awal in Makkah in 570 CE. However, there are different opinions on the exact birth date of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). this day is widely commemorated by Muslims around the world as Mawlid al-Nabi, the anniversary of his birth.

When is 12 Rabi Ul Awal in 2024?

The month of Rabi Ul Awal begins on Wednesday, 4th of September 2024. While the 12 Rabi Ul Awal 2024 will be on the 15th of September. It depends on the sighting of the moon. Each Islamic month begins when a new moon is sighted. 

What is the Significance of Rabi Ul Awal?

Rabi Ul Awal holds greater significance for Muslims around the world. It is the month of Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) birth. Although there is no consensus on the actual date, Muslims celebrate it on the 12th Rabi Ul Awal, the day known as Mawlid.   Many Muslims engage in lectures or sermons about the life of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and hold religious gathering throughout the month of Rabi Ul Awal. His birth is considered a moment of mercy and blessing for all humanity.
