Gulnar and her two sisters have experienced more tragedy in her young life than many of us will ever see in a lifetime. Aged just 2 years old, this child and her sisters lost both of their parents in the terrorist bomb blast in Peshawar Bazar, 2013.
Their grandparents initially took in the three young orphans, but they simply could not afford to look after them. When it very nearly seemed that Gulnar and her two sisters would lose the safety of a family home again, things suddenly took a turn for the better.
Gulnar’s grandfather learned that he could receive sponsorship from Al Mustafa Welfare Trust (AMWT) to care for his grandchildren. He applied immediately and it wasn’t long before sponsors were found for Gulnar and her sisters. All three girls are now in primary school, and Gulnar is also learning the Holy Quran.
Please give Sadaqa Jariya this Ramadan, and sponsor an orphan. Together we can ensure that tragedies don’t hold orphan girls like Gulnar and her sisters back from a bright and happy future.
