Rahim is the son of a barber. His family lives in a remote village near Sargodha, Punjab. Till the age of 8, Rahim had never seen the inside of a classroom.
There were no schools near Rahim's village and his father, Saleem, couldn’t afford to pay for his schooling somewhere else. Seeing his son wasting his childhood without an education upset Saleem. When he heard about children who’d received a free Qur’an education through Al-Mustafa Welfare Trust (AMWT), he sought out our team and signed his son up. Rahim’s sponsorship came through in due course. It covered the cost of tuition, as well as his accommodation fees at his new school.
Rahim is now 10 years-old, and completing his Hifz (memorization) of the last chapters of the Holy Qur’an. His progress has been phenomenal over the past two years. What’s more, Rahim’s sponsorship has also allowed us to provide him with a primary school education alongside his Qur’anic education. Rahim’s ambition is to continue with his studies and eventually further education.
“I could never think that my son would get good a education along with Hifz studies. But Alhumdulillah, Allah (swt) has made it possible. We are greateful to Rahim’s sponsor at AMWT.” –Saleem Butt
