Syed Babu’s life was one of poverty, difficulty and loneliness. But we won't let his old-age be the same.

Though he worked hard into his old age, Syed Babu never earned enough to set up a home and marry. His meagre income would never have sufficed to care for a family. Now at age 78, Syed has nowhere to go and no one to care for him.

When Syed first came to AMWT’s care home in Lahore he was severely malnourished and poorly. We gave him shelter and have been working to improve his health. But we still rely on donor support to provide for him.

Syed is in need of regular medication, basic healthcare, food and warm clothes for the coming winter. He wants to stay on at our care home where he doesn’t feel so alone in the company of care staff and other elderly people like him. Can you help?

AMWT’s Honour the Elderly programme allows us to tackle loneliness, neglect and social isolation in old age. With your support we can give people like Syed the care they depend on.
