FITRANA 2024

DONATE YOUR FITRANA 2024-ZAKAT AL FITR

One of the key obligations on Muslims during the Holy month of Ramadan is to donate Fitrana, also known as Zakat Al Fitr, on or before the morning of Eid-ul-Fitr. Fitrana 2024 is a small amount each Muslim individual must pay prior to Eid Salah to enable those in need to celebrate the completion of the auspicious month and join in the festivities of Eid-ul-Fitr. It is a mandatory charity regardless of age or status. Adults can pay their Zakat Al Fitr payment for themselves, as well as for any children or dependents under their care who cannot fulfill the obligation themselves. The only individuals exempt from paying Fitrana are those who do not have over approximately 2kg of staple food in excess of their needs.

Fitrana can be paid during the Holy month of Ramadan as long as payment is made before the congregational prayers on the morning of Eid-ul-Fitr. Any payment submitted after Eid Salah is invalid.

How much is the fitrana 2024

The Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (SAW) described the amount of fitrana as one saa’ of food, equivalent to 4 ‘madd’, which is the amount that fills one's hands when held together. In today's world, Zakat ul fitr is usually valued at the cost of one meal to be given to a needy person.

In the UK, the average price of a meal is around £5. Therefore, every Muslim is bound to pay £5 Zakat Al Fitr to uphold their religious duty. Pay your fitrana online to Al Mustafa Welfare Trust and help us deliver eid gifts and basic supplies to orphans and vulnerable families.

Eid-ul-Fitr is expected to be observed on 9th or 10th April, 2024 in UK. We encourage all Muslims to donate Fitrana 2024 before the specified date to ensure timely aid reaches to needy people.

THE PURPOSE OF FITRANA

Every Muslim is obliged to make a payment of Fitrana at the end of Ramadan as a token of their thankfulness to Allah (SWT) and all that He has given them. This payment ensures that all followers of Islam can celebrate Eid, the festival of breaking the fast, along with other Muslims around the world.

“The Prophet of Allah enjoined Zakat-ul-Fitr on those who fast to shield them from any indecent act or speech, and for the purpose of providing food for the needy.

It is accepted as Zakat for the one who pays it before the `Eid prayer, and it is Sadaqah for the one who pays it after the prayer.”
 Abu Dawood – Eng. transl. vol. 2, p. 421, no. 1605 – rated Sahih

Al Mustafa Welfare Trust plays a vital role in providing food, basic supplies and eid gifts to orphans and to less fortunate, ensuring that everyone celebrates the blessings of Eid. Through your donations, we strive to spread happiness.
