 with Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) and Balochistan being the most affected.

On 13th  January 2020 heavy snowfall occurred in the northern area of Azad Kashmir District Neelum Valley. Many people have been buried alive just like Samina 12 years old who was buried for 18 hours reported by the BBC. Luckily she has been found however rescuers are still searching for many missing people.

According to SDMA and local authorities following damages are being reported.

Frequent avalanches and landslides occur in Neelum Valley during the winter, often blocking roads and leaving communities isolated. Authorities have shut down schools, while several highways and roads are closed across the Neelum Valley mountainous areas. Due to heavy landslides roads are totally blocked.

 Treacherous Access Conditions 

Our response team has portrayed to us with the conditions of their journey to the affected areas.

"The roads are very bad, it has taken us 15 hours of travel and 5 hours was by foot."

 Many lives lost by disaster 

More than hundred lives lost due to the avalanche and landslides. Many adults and innocent children's bodies were recovered from deep snow and buried with respect. Many people may still be buried and lost that have not yet been found.
