Water is one of the basic necessities of human life, but unfortunately there are millions of people trapped in a cycle of poverty and disease due to not having access to clean drinking water. Across the developing world, millions of men and women waste hours collecting water which is not even clean, children are dying from preventable diarrhoeal diseases, and communities have open sewers running through them. We aim to work with local communities to provide them easy access to safe drinking water at their doorstep.
With your support we help local communities have easy access to clean water to end this global crisis and transform lives.
For over 1 billion people, life’s most pressing challenge is gaining easy access to safe, clean drinking water. Poor health due to unclean water and conflicts surrounding scarce water sources prevents many from escaping the poverty trap.
We often take the availability of safe drinking water for granted, yet for millions of people this one issue is the most challenging part of their daily lives. 1.1 billion people in the world do not have access to clean, safe water.
Some 2.75 million people die as a result of water related diseases every year. In addition to that 5 children die around every 60 seconds as a result of water-borne diseases. A massive 80% of diseases in the developing world are due to unsafe water and poor sanitation.
Let’s help raise as much funds as possible this year so we can help provide clean drinking water to people in the third world like Zain in the video on the right.
Zain is from Shikarpur in Sindh, Pakistan, where underground drinking water was contaminated since the disastrous 2011 floods. We helped install hundreds of hand pumps in flood affected areas to help children like Zain to have access to clean water at their door step.
Our target for this year is to raise fund so we can deliver the following to African and Asian countries where safe clean drinking water is scarce with severe drought conditions especially in Pakistan, Somalia, Gambia, Sudan, Bangladesh and Kashmir.
