Al-Mustafa Welfare Trust Delegation meets AJK President

AMWT delegation team meets with President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Raja Zulquernain, and discussed mutual interests and issues. The delegation included Abdul Razzaq Sajid, Chairman of Al-Mustafa Welfare Trust and UK based journalists including Tahir Choudhry, Wajahat Ali Khan, Mian Tahir Jamil Noorani and Adnan Ahmad Khan.

Razzaq Sajid informed the President that his charity was working in 20 countries around the world and it played a very important role for the relief and rescue activities of Pakistan Floods in 2010. He said that Al-Mustafa Housing Project is currently building homes of which 20 houses have been completed in Muzaffargarh and Charsada with the support of Slough Islamic Trust (London) and a total of 100 houses will be constructed for affected families. He also presented a report on relief activities about AMWT in different parts of the world. The President praised the relief activities and appealed to Haji Hanif Tayeb, Patron Chief of Al Mustafa Society Trust that he must extend the relief network to Azad Kashmir and the state government would fully cooperate with donor organizations. The President also stated that overseas Pakistanis could play a more important role for resolving the long awaited Kashmir dispute. He said there was a large number of Kashmiri’s who live in the UK and they were supporting the Kashmir movement.

Al-Mustafa Welfare Trust and Taiwani Organization hand in hand to Rehabilitate Pakistani Flood Victims

A seven member relief team has arrived from Taiwan to help the flood victims’ of Pakistan's 2010 Disaster. Taiwan’s delegation team will visit the affected areas including Muzaffargarh, Rajanpur and Dera Ghazi from February 25th to 27th. This was confirmed by Prof Dr Ghulam Qadir Fayyaz, Secretary General (CLAP Trust, Pakistan) during a press conference held at Lahore Press Club on Thursday.

Mian Khalid Habib Elahi, central leader of Al-Mustafa Welfare Society and Taiwan team members Yu-Fang, Philip Chen, Frank Chun Chang, Rebecca Wang (Executive Director of Noordhoff Craniofacial Foundation) and Debi Fan were present on the occassion. Prof Ghulam Qadir Fayyaz said that Noordhoff Craniofacial Foundation and Taiwan Government have sent $50,000 cash and one lakh kg of rice. He also stated that 50,000 kg of rice is to be distributed in the Sindh and Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa region, while another 50,000 kg of rice is to be distributed among affected families of Southern Punjab and Balochistan. The food items are to be distributed under the supervision of visiting delegation.

Prof Ghulam Qadir Fayyaz said that CLAP Trust will also organize a free plastic surgery camp in Dera Ghazi Khan, where 100 cleft lip and palate patients will be operated upon. Mian Khalid Habib Elahi also stated that Al-Mustafa Welfare Trust will build 50 houses for flood affected families and the first housing project “Basti Meranwala” at Kot Addu will be completed on March 31st 2011.
